Robin Antar, U.S.Constitution in a Knot, 2020
Media: Marble
Dimensions: Work in Progress
Description: In 2018, Antar began to integrate her hyper-realistic, political work with her emotionally-charged abstractions. This work represents the U.S. Constitution as a stone “knot” sculpture. Antar began creating stone knot sculptures when her youngest son was struggling with drug addiction. She made three knots in his honor, representing her frustration. Newer stone knot works reflect themes of struggle both with personal trauma and in our global environment.

This work is the first in Antar’s newest series, which merges aspects of her ongoing “Expressions in Stone,” and “Realism in Stone,” series.
