SINUOUS FIGURES

Description:

THis pieces was carved from a huge 300 pound block of caramel and cream Alabaster stone, rough cut at MARBLE/Marble. Although the sculpture is smooth and sinuous, it retains the texture and ribbon-like meandering lines of the natural stone, giving it the appearance of coral found at the bottom of a barrier reef. Part of the "Stone Knot" series, the figures are firmly rooted to the ground, like tree trunks, yet enmeshed and entwined together.
